Dick's has the Mountain Hardwear Men's Nitrous Down Jacket at 89$+ 7$ shipping. All sizes, black or green. Also has free shipping on orders over 99$. Regular price is 200-220, but you can find it reduced around 150.

It's one of the best downs, 800 fill. See reviews here:

I ordered one with Paypal. Add to cart for discount.

800 fill down is the best down jacket ? why not 850 or 900

what the LOWEST temperature will keep you warm with 800 fill down jacket?

I want to buy one for my every winter needs and incase I travel.
no, you can get 900+ fill power jackets, like this:

http://montbell.us/products/disp....id=2301365

and fill power doesn't tell you how warm the jacket is, it tells you how lofty the down inside it is. an 800 fill power jacket with only 1 ounce of down will probably not be as warm as a 650fp jacket with 2 ounces of down.

Better than Denali?
Yes. You can read up on down vs fleece. Down per oz is the warmest insulator out there. Also many down jackets can compress into small sacks.

The Marmot Mantra is an even better deal at $122 plus tax if applicable with a list price of $285. I'm in for one of these. Thanks for the link!
Thanks! I'm in for one of these! $135 shipped after discounts. Plus, just bought a merchandise credit from ebay for $20 off, so actually will only pay about $115 for the jacket!

yep. the denali uses Polartec 300 fleece, which has a clo of .92 (fixed, thought it was polartec 200) according to this:

meanwhile, a solid down jacket like the montbell alpine light jacket has a clo of 2.5

that's almost 3 times the heat retention.

and people are all over the patagonia nano puff jackets, but they're about half as warm as an actual down jacket.

The nano puff is super comfy. It's good for 50-60 degree weather IMO.

that's what i found. i was the only one with a synthetic fill jacket on a backpacking trip in the mountains a couple summers ago (nighttime temps in the 30's), and i froze my butt off. the nano puff went back the next week and i got myself a proper down jacket

I had one of the NorthFace 800's thats thin like this and not the Michelin man George Costanza puffy and it kept me warm with a t-shirt underneath in new york city at 30 degrees.
If its really windy its not as great.

I found this deal yesterday and almost pulled the trigger. Ended up getting this [amazon.com]jacket in the Mystery color instead. The MH jacket is probably the better one but I liked the fit and color on this one.

I forgot about discount gift cards! I just reordered after purchasing $130 worth of GCs for $114. Saved another $16!

Is anyone having this issue:

Placing the coat into the cart reduces the price to $89.99, but when I apply the code, the "reduced" price jumps up to $95.99 and then the $15 is taken away.
