, but the Pioneer SW8 and the new model are both exceptional 8" subs. This is especially so if you get the SW8 for just $69.99.

Can anyone who has listened to both the Dayton B652's and the Pioneer BS22's talk about how they compare?
I realize that the woofer, tweeter and cabinet sizes are completely different...but I am looking to buy a pair of budget speakers under $100, primarily to listen to music and they will be powered using the Lepai LP-2020A+, and am wondering if the BS22's will be worth the extra $$. Thanks in advance for your comments! |

I've recently been mixing and matching my speakers and some older ones I have retired. I ran just the Polk R150's with the Pioneer SW8 sub, connected to the HK AVR1700. For 2.1 on the cheap, this sounded amazing. Less than $110 for the 2.1 speaker set.

Looks like I missed out on the sale earlier this month for the R150's...which was actually submitted to SD by you. I have added a deal alert..lets hope they drop the price again soon. |

I was able snatch up a Denon AVR-2112 (a low, high-tier receiver?) here on slickdeals for $327. I only have a 5.0 set-up so far but I always have the option to expand since the 2112 is capable of 7.1 channels. Also, try asking here for help: http://forums.audioholics.com/for...diophytes/ That's where I first went when I got started.

Would this setup work with the HK AVR 1700 that was $200 at BB the other week? I bought that, but ended up returning it because it was only 100 W per channel. I know these Pioneer towers are like 130 W peak, so that would be too much for that receiver. Then I looked at some of the higher end Yamaha AVRs, and even those ones were only 110 W per channel max. I am kinda new at this stuff, but am I missing something?
