FTD via Groupon - $20 for $40 Valentine's Deal

I remember this deal from last year and it caused quite a stir because FTD raised its prices for Groupon users.

The online coupon site Groupon.com and flower company FTD Group Inc. are offering refunds after getting complaints that a Valentine's Day flower deal wasn't so sweet.

Both companies said they didn't do anything wrong, but they responded to Internet complaints that FTD inflated prices for some Groupon customers who used a coupon for $20 off an FTD flower purchase of $40 or more.

The problem surfaced when several Groupon customers found the flowers they bought were priced lower as sale items on FTD's own website. They complained on the Groupon site and the Internet that FTD was making up for the Groupon discount by jacking up the prices.

Isn't this the story with just about any retailer out there who supposedly have 'sales' during holiday periods? Places like Macys and Kohls are ones, to name a few...

Well, after what happened then, I am not buying it. Almost pulled the triggar.

Screw that. Too many horror stories and I was disappointed miserably with what I got 2 years ago with them. It was only like an extra $5-$10 to stay local for everybody I sent to last year and extra money well spent.

Farking embarrassing to have raggedy weeds show up as a gift to somebody. Hey thanks for the brown patchy sticks f**k you too honey!!

No. Not quite.

When you go into Kohls and crap is jacked up it's jacked up for EVERYBODY, not just you.

Not only is the extra special rip off price just for you, but they already have your damn money so you can't just walk out as even as you went in.

They purchased with the expectation of $20 off $40, what they got was $20 off of $50-$60.

Wont let me order with promo...

Anyone in their right mind will avoid this..

last year was a complete and utter diaster and this year will be no different...

I have a last minute birthday this week that I was going to purchase for anyway. Might these disasterous occurences also be prevalent amongst the non-VDay orders as well?

Just my two cents .. FTD and EDIBLE ARRANGEMENTS are always cheaper w/out groupon . Doesnt matter if its for a holiday/ valentines day/birthdays.. If it ain't one thing, it's another with them.. Sad but true.. Twice I've sent flowers with FTD and they look equivalent to grocery store bouquets for 3x's the price. Lost my business for sure.
