Schlage Lock with Link Wireless from $69. to 99.00 BestBuy FS

I am not very good at adding pictures and links, but those of you that know these locks, they are phenomenal. In Satin, Brass and Aged bronze. In lever lock type and deadbolt. I have a couple of these locks and really like them. Use wireless or without. Will need a Micas Verdi type wireless, or pay Schlage a small monthly fee for wireless.

They've got some great prices on the GE modules, remotes too! All of them $18.99, about half of what they go for on amazon. If I hadn't already gotten all I need from the Radio Shack clearance in 2011 I would be all over this stuff:

The locks can be used by themselves without the need for the Nexia hub. However, if you want to be able to access the locks (and/or the other z-wave modules) remotely via the internet or mobile app, you will need the Nexia hub ($8.99 monthly fee) or the Vera [micasaverde.com] ($179 to $299) or homeSeer [homeseer.com] controller. Neither the Vera or the Homeseer carry a monthly fee.

If you go through Schlage Link for wireless service, the name has changed to Nexia. Sometimes, Nexia has promotional offers to sign up or it runs at most 12.99 a month. I have seen it cheaper, but I do not know what they have going on now. Also, any Z wave controller will work with this for no monthly cost, but the Z wave controllers can cost a little bit. I'll try to get more info, or usually someone comes on these deals and knows all about it.

better than what? this is just the lock hardware, no gateway. so you need some sort of zwave controller if you want remote control or scene driving functionality. if you have the schlage setup that means a monthly fee. if you roll your own via micasaverde vera or homeseer, there is no monthly fee. if you dont care about zwave features and just want to use the keyless entry features, you dont need any controller for that.

The normal price for the non-Wifi versions is $129. I just bought two at $88 + tax and thought that was a great deal because they never go on sale.

At $69 marked down from $200, these ones are a S-T-E-A-L.

Wish I had more entries to put these on.

I had planned on going with the Kwikset one, but with this price, I may just have to go with Schlage. We have Kwikset on all of our other doors, so I could just use the smartkey to keep them matching and I think I like the idea of the motorized bolt better so that you can actually lock and unlock it remotely. But With the $99 kit, I would get the deadbolt and a lamp module, and then maybe sell off the controller on ebay or something.

Motorized versions chew threw batteries much faster and can have major problems if your deadbolt isn't lined up perfectly in the jamb. To each their own, though. I just know that you still have to be standing in front of it for it to open, even if you remotely unlock it.
