Can you give links to what you are talking about? Like that mail in rebate and the $10 off. Plus when you say "price match" are you price matching to Amazon? Because I can almost guarantee you that this deal will be gone by the time that Best Buy opens tomorrow.

I am not sure that the Amazon will increase its price...as the price of the Deluxe edition has been $25 for the last couple of days there (but I may be wrong).

I usually use the IRS online free fillable forms to do my taxes myself (regular 1040, investment income, itemized deductions etc.). What do these software programs do that is different? My understanding is that it basically turns the instruction forms into a series of questions that you click through, and provides some convenience by importing data from previous years automatically. Has anyone done taxes by hand and with one of these tax programs - does it come out different, or is it significantly easier? -Thanks

Damn that's an awesome deal! I bought the deluxe version for almost the same price a couple weeks ago from Amazon. Don't know that I'll need the additional features in premium but I would've bought it instead at this price!

Can this be used by more than one individual for this same price? If my girlfriend wanted to use it to file her taxes... Or is this a one time use? Does it come with audit support?

I know that it does come with audit protection, if that's what you're looking for.

As someone who buys/resells from estate sales, yard sales, etc... would this be adequate software for my situation? I'm really not wanting to go to a tax professional and have them charge me $50+... which is what I've done for the past five years now.

When it comes to taxes, I'm a complete idiot. I'm just worried I'll find a way to screw it up... lol

Any tax software is a great tool to help you understand how your financial decisions throughout the year can impact your bottom line at tax time. I've been using HR block for years just because it's the software first I started using, so familiarity and importing previous years tax info makes it easier for me to use.
For years, I would do my taxes with this, then take it to my tax guy. At first he would always find something I overlooked, but over time had little to add. So now I do my own.

Is there a separate fee to file state tax returns? How much?

I can do HRB online filing through employer discount program:

Basic $12.97 plus an additional $34.95 state fee
Deluxe $19.47 plus an additional $34.95 state fee
Premium $32.47 plus an additional $34.95 state fee

Want to compare apples to apples.

$50 is a good deal to have someone do it for you, I would stick with that option.
