Anyone wanna play either MvC2, UMvC3, SSFIV:AE online?
(avoided it online cuz of latency, but this thread makes me want to bust out my sticks)

Hahaha.....I've always wanted to build myself a bartop style, but my wife would kill me for playing on the dinner table

These Xarcade sticks are for quick 30 minutes gamers. Any longer, then you'll get blister or cut on your fingers from the controller. Customize one if you're more of a hardcore gamer. With that being said.....just ordered two sets just for future use

get an android stick and put the stick on a coffetable for the HDTV

yes i understand its cheap, but u wont enjoy using it. if you decide to ever play fighting game you will understand why.

Yes it is a computer for a host, I bought most of the stuff from ebay and groovygamegear.com all of the templates etc I found on arcadecontrols.com and the people there are very helpful. The arcade panel is made of MDF, I cut it out and used a router to shape it. tons of wiring under the panel, it was very time consuming but worth it. I use Gamex as my front end. The controls are all linked to a device called a keywiz from groovy game gear

The buttons are all labeled to work with Gamex

I even added buttons on the side for the pinball games

Really nice to see old retro Arcade joysticks like this are still in and creating excitement amongst the fans. I keep thinking MAME is dead or everyone would rather be playing on their smartphones, ipod touchs, tablets, PCs, consoles, or handhelds.

Wow what a great deal. Back when I was in college and sharing an apartment with several gaming friends we owned one of these exact units and played the hell out of it on a variety of games and consoles (you can get adapters I think for every console out there at this point, though some take a bit of tinkering and a rats nest of cords to get to play nicely with each other).

It was built like a tank as far as durability goes. The only real downside is that it can be slightly awkward to be that close to some of the umm... larger... people you may want to game with.

Upon seeing this deal I hopped over to their website to see if a similar deal existed on the "single" version of this unit. I already own one "single" myself and wouldn't mind having a matched set for those gaming night get togethers. It would be much nicer than being required to share personal space as much as the double unit does (despite the double being quite large there are limits to how close I want to be to people). No dice though, not even listed for sale at the moment.

As a side note, as others have mentioned, these are extremely mod-able. Very easy to take apart and everything is quite accessible and set up to easily swap out switches or anything else you want to customize inside the unit. I've taken my single apart and put it back together with this or that component changed several times with no troubles..
