was the box new and sealed?

Yes,

But I'm still missing the short square tube that is used for situps.

The hardware had come out of the blister back and were bouncing around inside the box. So in addition to missing a part, I got to do an easter egg hunt for all the washers and nuts.

The ends of some of the metal parts are rusted. Not what you would expect from a brand called "Everlast". .....(made in china)

Picked mine up today from the store. Looks like a few bolts came loose from the packaging but I think they are all there. Haven't assembled it yet but for $50 I can't complain about the quality.

I had a hell of a time putting on one of the horizontal arm cushions, but the rest went smoothly.

The lady at the store dragged the box hence scratching a few parts as the box was about to rip open. Saw this and refused the item.

I got mine shipped and everything appears to be intact, I think. If mine came with an assembly guide I'd know for sure. Also, the blister pack with the screws/washers/nuts fell apart for me too so there were some loose parts in the box. Does anyone know if there's an assembly guide online? I couldn't find it anywhere. Everlast's website isn't very good and doesn't have any support documentation. Now I have to wait until Monday to talk to Everlast's customer service.

Mine is also completely sealed and looks new (everything wrapped in plastic and foam) and I'm also missing the situp tube part # 4817-13 (Foam Pad Tube). Also missing 2 washers. Frown and some of the parts do look rusty as well. First everlast product, definitely not what I expected from a big brand.

What are you guys planning on doing?

Same situation here. Box looked factory sealed, but no instructions inside and blister pack holding screws fell apart so screws are all over the place. Not sure if I'm missing parts, going down to try to assemble from pictures on the web. Noticed a manufacture date of July 2011 on one of the bars so these have been sitting for a while... EEK!

Edit: a couple hours later, it's done! no missing parts although putting together based on picture alone was a real challenge. This link is your friend since you can zoom in really close > http://www.amazon.com/Everlast-Po...B005QWS0KY

If anyone has any question on assembly, let me know.

Overall, quality, fit/finish is a bit below average but it's pretty stable and for $50 delivered, I still think it was a killer deal!

Got mine assembled. In the end I was only missing two washers. I would highly recommend using a real socket wrench instead of the included one. Appears to be pretty stable, and pretty solid too. Awesome deal @$50.

Can anyone tell me how stable this thing is for pull-ups etc. (I'm about 155 lb for reference) I haven't picked it up yet, still debating whether or not I want to go to the trouble.

I'm close to 200 lbs this is plenty stable for pull-ups for someone my weight. It has a place to add weights if you need more stability. The base is 3'x5' so it's stable enough considering the footprint.

Very Stable IMO. I'm just under 200 pounds so you will not have any issue at 155.

Thanks for the link. I ended up assembling it, which was actually kind of fun, using the picture on Amazon. Assembly went smoothly and all the parts were there, except for one of the round plastic caps that cover where the pull-up bar inserts into of the vertical bar. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase. Its stable enough for all the exercises it lets you do and I'm 6'1"

Had mine shipped and it arrived intact. There were some minor scratches on the base, but no big deal. My blister pack wasn't broken and in the end I was still short two flat washers.

one of the handle bar was re-welded, looks like crap, but i didnt have any problem putting it together. the back rest, dip grip and pullup bar are slightly asymmetrical. but for 50 bucks what you gonna do. the punching bag stand had better parts.
