It's definitely an IPS display, the serial number lookup shows that plus it has great viewing angles like my 1st gen iPad.
I got Adobe discs as well, and the pre-installed OS image had them install already (before I nuked it) If I have time on Monday I was going to try out XP Tablet 2005 since Lenovo supplies all the drivers for it. The touchscreen and pen inputs were already calibrated and work fine for me, so I haven't tried out the beta Wacom drivers with the 16 point cal yet. Was able to get my too-tall Intel 330 SSD to fit inside the short drive bay by removing the top lid and spacer and turning it upside down before mounting it into the lenovo cage chipside down (for protection) and it works excellent. Warranty did reset to one year after shipping, however the 3 year upgrade is $129 on the Lenovo site. |

Windows 7 works decently with the X230t and Windows 8 works even better ( even though the X230t can't use all of Windows 8 features). |

I really like how Windows 7 runs on it, but I'm curious if XP can duplicate all the features. One thing I'm guessing won't work is the instant return from standby, plus it doesn't appear to use any battery while on standby either which I'm guessing XP will unless that's a mobo feature.
The iPad like window scrolling features are actually courtesy of the Wacom drivers and not W7, provided that works on XP it might be okay, although the standby thing is a deal-breaker |

The instant wake up and 30 day standby features, which is what makes it an iPad replacement for me ![]() http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/d...D=HT074526 Last edited by Matthew08; 02-11-2013 at 10:04 PM.. |

Well after using it for a few days I REALLY like the multitouch. Didn't expect it to be this good. I don't have anything against the pen input, but it's nice that there's a choice. I thought I'd be using the pen a lot but between the multitouch screen accuracy and the window scrolling features & pinch to zoom I noticed that then pen's only been used about 10% of the time.
The i3 processor is very fast, even when I'm forcibly slowing it down to the max when on battery. I'm getting about 3-4 hours out of the small 3 cell battery. When the hunt for the charger starts to get annoying I'll be going to the 6 cell, which is supposed to fit in the factory sleeve I also bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/200879246662 This is as cheap as it'll get.
