60hz is pretty low (as opposed to 120 or 240). make sure you see the display model to see if it is adequate for you, best to view an action scene to test it.
from wikipedia [wikipedia.org]: Many high-end LCD televisions now have a 120 or 240 Hz (current and former NTSC countries) or 100 or 200 Hz (PAL/SECAM countries) refresh rate. The rate of 120 was chosen as the least common multiple of 24 frame/s (cinema) and 30 frame/s (NTSC TV), and allows for less distortion when movies are viewed due to the elimination of telecine (3:2 pulldown). For PAL at 25 frame/s, 100 or 200 Hz is used as a fractional compromise of the least common multiple of 600 (24 x 25). These higher refresh rates are most effective from a 24p-source video output (e.g. Blu-ray Disc), and/or scenes of fast motion. i believe its the same for LED's. if your unsure of what the difference is just look for side by side floor models where one tv is 60 another is 120 and another is 240 (if you can find a 240 that is). As with everything if your ok with it, its no big deal. video [youtube.com] for the lazy Bush up to 60'' TV Stand $19.99 at Best Buy reg price $330.00 32" Westinghouse LCD $292 at Best Buy reg price $699.99 Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 4000 $15 at staples reg price $79.00 APC battery backup $25 at staples reg price 49.99 |

Great TV for the price, so far, especially for consumer who is not looking for higher performance/extra features (such as 120Hz, more than 2 HDMI). Persuaded my parents to buy this, based on the $449 price being a great value for this TV (50 inch class 1080p LED, Toshiba brand), and this is their first HDTV.
Also, price is $449 even (not $449.99). No display model in the Concord Calif Fry's, but they had a stack of their stock last night sitting right in the middle of the TV display area. PS: Also, in case anyone was still wondering, I researched it thoroughly, and this is exactly the same TV as the 50L2200U ( which is available at Best Buy or Amazon - http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshi...&cp=1&lp=1 ). Toshiba uses two different model numbers for marketing purposes. No difference at all between these TV's except the model numbers. Last edited by dash7; 01-29-2013 at 11:02 AM.. |
