Does the USB on this set plays movies and stuff? I'm looking to hang the TV on the wall for bedroom and I want to avoid having wires and stuff hanging down. TIA!

IMHO, comparing a SD to a doorbuster is unfair, unless it's in a favorable light for the SD (like "holy fark, this is less than the doorbuster price!"). Those prices are gimmicks to get national attention and have people lined up at the door. They're not "real" prices -- they're temporary, limited quantity marketing pieces.

Same thing goes with price mistakes. Unless it's something that others have a fair and reasonable shot at, it's not a good comparison.

Otherwise, you might as well go "yawn -- you could've just been like me and won this in a sweepstakes for free."

Well thats the thing you could buy it anywhere for whatever price and use your C-card to pricematch the doorbuster price. So its not just the lucky few it was wide open. Hence why I got 2

No, I was wondering if I should hold out longer. But, when I got to Fry's they were sold out and I was 'advised' to wait because a 50" 1080p, 120hz name brand plasma was going on sale soon for the same price. I was not advised how long soon was, though, but I didn't get a rain check on this one.

not all credit cards match doorbusters. In fact, AFAIK, only discover does. And I'm betting they learned their lesson for next year

I called Frys and was told my TV will arrive at earliest Feb 4th. It has been with CEVA for 2 days and not in transit yet. I guess I shouldn't complain with free shipping. Also, severe weather in my region now.

whats the deal with CEVA? never used them before. I live in a high rise apartment and work till 5, but the leasing office usually signs for packages. I wonder how they deliver.

My local store has this item in stock still. Im on the fence on whether to buy this or wait for something better after superbowl.

Havn't purchased a new TV in 7 years. There are decent sales going on now for TVs. Do prices typically come down much further after SB?

Why not simply pick up the item, don't open the box and wait after SB? This way you get to see what's coming up on sale afterwards and it doesn't cost you anything

does it matter if it's opened box or unopened? Here's fry's return policy on Tvs:

Defective items may be returned within 30 days of the purchase date for replacement or upgrade. Please insure sufficient packaging is used to protect any return shipments.
