Anyone know where the windows product key is on this laptop? I do not see it on the bottom of the laptop

One of my 2 rebates seems to have some issue with it. I get the following now when checking status:
Your submission has been received. Unfortunately, there was an issue that prevented processing of your rebate. Your will receive more information in the mail with further details and instructions. I hope this is something easy to fix and get validated right away. Anyone get this before with HP rebates especially since this was an ER from Staples. I no longer have the laptop, but did write down the serial# just in case there was an issue with the rebate. Edit: I checked the status on web-rebates.com to see more details of the error and it shows the following: Our records indicate that one or more of the serial numbers provided is a duplicate serial number from a previous submission, The Easy Rebates ID submitted was missing required information for the product purchased I wonder if they do this on purpose to a certain percentage so you don't claim the rebate and they keep the money. I'm gonna call them and try to get this validated because this is BS. I inputted the correct serial# for each of my submissions and 1 went OK , while this one is showing up as error. Well I called HP to inquire about this duplicate serial # error that I got on one of my rebates and it looks like the serial is valid, but for some reason is coming up as a duplicate. So now they want me to send a pic of the serial# on the box or actual laptop to verify I own it. However, that is gonna be difficult to do since I sold it and no longer have it.
I guess I learned a lesson this time in time for laptop rebates always take a pic of the serial# before selling it just in case something like this comes up. I thought just writing it down would be enough in case something happens, but no I need an image which is not something I can get. I don't know if the new buyer is willing to send me an image or not and I might just move on and think of it as a lesson learned. |
