How are checkpoints constitutional? |

You can thank the democrats in the House for making such searches and checkpoints necessary. Had they been honest deal makers and funded and built the border fences and protections called for in the amnesty deal Ronald Reagan made with them 30 years ago, we would not be here now....but being back stabbing traitors, they gladly took the amnesty, and completely reneged on securing the border....
in much the same way they made a deal with Bush the elder where he accepted to raise taxes (which doomed his second term run) in return for spending cuts....again, they gladly took the taxes, and then reneged on the spending cuts. democrats have proven themselves to be untrustworthy back stabbers, and hopefully the GOP has learned its lesson and will never make such far-reaching compromises again with the democrats without forcing them to come good with their end of the deal FIRST, before whatever the GOP agrees to comes into effect. Only morons would trust someone who keeps stabbing them in the back after every significant agreement and negotiation. At my old job I used to go through them periodically. You'd see all these cars turning around after which a bike cop usually went. You would see a lot of people on the side of the road, usually hispanic, and their cars were getting towed. I for one applaud the police for actually doing their job, unlike the POTUS and ICE with their whole "let's just leave the non bad ones alone" attitude. At the same time if you're white and don't have insurance either you should be sitting on the side of the road with your car getting towed! Nevermind all the times I was pulled over when I was younger for some BS unknown reason, or "you and your car matched a description we received"... Annoying? Yep. Something to cry over? Nope. |

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. Maybe if our elected officials actually upheld their responsibilities to their constituents actions like this wouldn't be necessary. Furthermore, I didn't create the problem. Those who came here illegally and those who support them did that. Someone always has to go and F it up for the rest of us. If you should be mad at anybody it should be at those who have made things like this necessary. I for one applaud getting non-licensed and uninsured drivers off the road. When you've been hit by 2 or 3 of them and you realize that your insurance is going to go up directly as a result of them you get sick and tired of it. My pursuit of happiness doesn't include having to pay to fix my car because some illegal rammed in to me and drove off so I applaud the police in this and as I have said, they're not pulling you over to check your license and reg but rather to ensure that you're not under the influence and just so happen to find some other things. |

I used to cross a Border Patrol checkpoint about every day. There is one between San Diego and Orange County (about 60-70 miles north of the border). Friggin asinine but then you see the amount of stuff they catch and you're kind of like well I suppose it makes sense. |
