update. After a few more hours my drive settled at 52° C. Not that bad but it isn't warm in my room yet so I might end up taking it out of the case.

Does it make sense to have thunderbolt over USB 3.0 since I am not use the drive will be fast enough to get better performance on thunderbolt v. USB 3.0. How fast can the transfer speeds be compared to the cables and technology that transfers them? Any good resources that answer this question? Hopefully I am making sense. |

What was the part number. The other person had p/n of 1CL160-570 that was the 7200. My Costco in concord ca did not have any pn starting with 1cl they all had some other number. Wonder if seagate is replacing the 7200 drives for the slower on the new drives. Elviso |
