I wouldn't go for this product. I own it, and still using it. It chirps and squeaks like there's no tomorrow. I shouldn't have bought this. I even read the reviews..
RMA through Corsair makes you pay for the shipping cost as well. Which is reason why I didn't send it in yet. |

All the new line of Corsair PSUs have the random coil whines. Has to be some corner they cut in house to reduce cost because it happens across all their models. Right down to different wattage within a specific model line but sourced from different manufactures.
It doesn't happen to everyone but for those that are affected (me included) it will drive you crazy. |

Here's my experience with Corsair as of today:
CX400 - worked for a year, then started buzzing TX650 V1 - worked for two years, then started coil whine TX650 V2 - whined out of the box on network transfers, fine at idle HX750 - whined out of the box all the time TX550M - whine out of the box all the time All of this goes away if I turn off the C1E/C3/C6 halt states, which raises the idle floor by about 40W and totally mitigates any efficiency advantage. You know what doesn't whine? My Cooler Master Silent Pro M600. I've about had it with Corsair. Last edited by KnightRT; 01-28-2013 at 01:27 PM.. |
