You should be fine with your OCZ500 PSU. But, I make it a habit of replacing my PSU's every two years just to play it safe...especially if my rig is on 24/7. This Antec deal is a great deal and would work well in your system, and best of all, it is made my Seasonic. Can't get much better than that at this price. I suppose the question is, do you have time to switch out the PSU? If you have the time, then this is a great PSU for the price and would work well in your rig. Although some people complain about OCZ PSU's, I have never had a problem with them and I have used many of em' [have two OCZ 850 Fully Modular Gold PSU's at the moment]. If you have the time to switch out your PSU, this deal is very hard to beat. Best of all, you have the peace of mind of a new, reliable PSU in your rig. Hope this helps! Soar |

I've got this one right here, should I replace it? http://www.frys.com/product/74981...IN_RSLT_PG

http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/ar...ew/1571/11 If your rig is working well with the 500 watt Corsair unit, I wouldn't change it unless you plan on upgrading your rig and it would need more power. I would also take into consideration these three factors: 1. How long have you been using your present PSU? 2. How many hours per day does your PSU run? 3. Do you have the time/knowledge to switch out the PSU? For me personally, if my PSU was older than 2 years, was on for 24/7, and I had the time and knowledge to replace the PSU, I would be all over this deal. Hope this helps! On a side note for anyone who can help out... Do I need more than 430w (Antec TP3-430) for this: i5-2500k (not overclocked) 16gb ram gtx 460 (possibly soon a gtx 660) 3 hd and 1 ssd. Right now with this set up I have no prob with stability, but I always thought I should have a little more power. |

Thanks for the helpful reply soar! I'm currently running on an i3 2100 w/ a gtx 650ti and I just bought the PSUthis month, so I could still return it and get this one if necessary. I have no problems replacing a PSU myself. Its just that maybe the extra wattage my help out in the long run since my PC runs almost 24/7.

Glad to see another fan of the Enermax...my 480w was probably the best PSU I've used back then. Solid, never any issues, and very quiet. I'm almost sad to be phasing it out.
Thanks for the reply about this Antec.

Another simple way to test it is throw it in a working rig and see how it works. Here's a list of their new Platimax line: http://www.enermaxusa.com/psu_platimax.php Soar |
