The 47" is just the 3.5mm headset, it hooks into an audio mixer that has the volume controls and connects to the controller. The mixer has a fairly long cable that connects to the xbox, maybe 10 feet long

Question how are these compared to TurtleBeach X12?

The sound is almost as good, but not quite as good as the X12, but the mic works much better at noise canceling (the x12's mic picks up everything).

Oh silly me, I figured something marketed as usable on PC would work on PC. Why this doesn't have windows drivers for the amp is beyond me. Returning it tomorrow.
