I searched around slickdeals and did not find anything about this.
So here goes......

I went to Best Buy to purchase an iPhone 5 16GB with the 10% coupon on Open Box items since they had it listed online at $594.99.
I was looking at the options because they had both the colors and had different carriers as well, ATT/Verizon/Sprint!
Then the Mobile department manager said that the phone was $494.99, and I asked if I could use the 10% coupon.
He said this was already a discount and cannot be combined with the 10%.

I have attached the receipt for reference/price-match purposes!

I know ATT had these for $399, but this is the best price at the current moment for me! The phones ranged from being 1 week old to 1 month old!
These come with the original box, brand new charger, ear pods, and cable unlike the ATT deal!

Hope somebody is able to score it at the same price!
If you purchase something through a post on our site, Slickdeals may get a small share of the sale.

I read a lifehacker story that you can resign your contract and have the money credited to the bill. So in theory you buy the phone at bestbuy, then walk in to verizon and renew your contract and have them apply the $400-450? ish to you bill.

Open box is set by retek, so prices will vary depending on what accessories are missing or the condition of the phone, but I have seen the $494 price at quite a few stores.

If an associate thinks the item should be priced below what their pricing program generates, they can alter it, but going any lower typically requires a manager's approval and is pretty rare. If you get to the store and they're priced higher, you could probably negotiate the price down a bit lower.

it's not worth trying to haggle with best buy employees- they are the worst of the worst. always trying to squeeze every last dollar out of you with product replacement plans etc etc.
