Sony SS-F6000 6.5" Floorstanding Speaker (Pair) - Black - $99 + tax, FS at Fry's

These were on display at Fry's and was able to listen to these towers against about ten others

In my opinion they sounded like the sound was 3d, all around me was real nice I would say I liked them the best of all of their display towers I could not believe they were Sony's (not sure if this is good or bad for long time listening) the pioneers were flat or neutral sounding.

I would definitely recommend checking into these.....

just picked these up. my frys (burbank) didn't have any on display so I had to buy them sight unseen, but for $100 I wasn't gonna complain. I had 2 older Acoustic Research towers that I found on the sidewalk (dual 8 in woofers + a single tweeter, not ported), and they were rather awful, really in need of a replacement.

have them hooked up to a harman kardon avr 1600 (another frys deal a while back) and they sound great. I'm not an audiophile so I can't comment on overall sound quality, but everything sounds right to me.


they are a lot bigger (and also lighter) than I expected, take your measurements carefully I guess


some comments on amazon about needing a subwoofer to go with them, I find they have just enough bass to keep me entertained, but not so much to bother everyone else in the house. I use them for music and gaming primarily, not home theater



gonna go out on a limb here and say that you'd be hard pressed to find speakers this good for $50 each

Did it fit in your car or take the boxes off? You said you didn't see it on display,did you go to the their display rooms at the back? AFAIK, they have a separate display room for home theaters, next door for subwoofers, and then for speakers and soundbars. These speakers were standing side by side with the Jamo tower (S426 type). But anyway, I completely agree with you, $50 per tower is a good buy. Enjoy. :-)

Box was huge, had to put it in the back seat, and rotate it to get it through the door opening.

The home theater "demo" room at my store is pretty much just polk audio stuff, and its all either broken, or not hooked up right.

On Frys.com, there are the Sony SSF-6000 speaker pair that cost $99.99 + FS (Ground). According to pricegrabber, the next lowest price is $180 (45% less).

From all of the reviews that I have read, the speakers are good for the price. All audiophiles will find a few issues with them, but overall I have seen that they are getting good reviews for people who just want some nice speakers.
