Pull out your old stereo surround being careful not to break clips, you will need a Phillips or Torx driver in most cases, also a small flathead to pry and remove wire clips. Don't forget the antenna line! It's usually short. Do not cut any wires. With a stereo like this the existing harness will power it fine no need to run a line to the fuse box. TEST NEW STEREO BEFORE FINAL MOUNTING IS DONE. Slide in your new stereo into its new home. Resecure surround and your good to go. Out of car work, 20 minutes. in car work, about 20 minutes My first FP Slickdeal!!! UNSC ELEPHANT

22W RMS, good power. Kenwood is a great audio manufacturer to boot.
Take my advice from someone whos been there. GET A VEHICLE SPECIFIC WIRING HARNESS ADAPTER!!! This will allow you to add the aftermarket head unit without destroying/cutting into your existing wiring harness. It's a really easy (and rewarding) afternoon project to install your own car stereo. Unless you have a "premium audio" option on your car, odds are even a simple head unit like this one will sound excellent. |

If the photo is accurate, the receiver is a KDC-108. The PKG-MP18 number appears to be the walmart-specific package with the speakers. I have an older version of that receiver in one of my cars, my truck actually. It's been going strong for 6 years now, driving a high-end system with big amplifiers and top of the line speakers. MP3 receivers were still new back when I bought it so it was quite expensive at the time.
It should make someone an excellent receiver that will stand the test of time, unlike a lot of the "boss audio" and similar stuff that some people are linking to. My other cars though have much nicer Pioneer receivers with 4 volt outputs and parametric EQ, my local Target was clearing them out for $35 and I bought every one they had lol. I'm an outdoor adventurer, science geek, classical guitarist, programmer, photographer, audiophile, and car nut, so I try to help the SD community by posting useful information in those areas.
