The only downside to disconnecting the battery is that you may experience reduce fuel economy, and possibly reduced performance, for a few hundred miles or so while your car's engine control computer relearns its settings/parameters. |

[QUyourc1cummin;57160634]I have an oem cd disc changer in my dash too. Does anyone know if this receiver has a plug in the rear to accomodate this?[/QUOTE]
Is it built into the old head unit, and do you actually have the space to fit this head unit into the dash, along with your old in dash CD changer? Some of the next paragraph will apply to you. And remember, pretty much anything is possible for car audio options, but it really depends on how much time you're willing to spend on the car install. I was hell bent on installing my old alpine head unit into my Acura TL with navigation system (to better control the sub/amps I installed) and eventually just gave up and put it in the closet. This coming from the guy who completely rewired every single piece of audio wire in the car, bought a jigsaw to cut the metal in the door frame and rear deck to accommodate my old infiniti kappas and kappa perfects (even made my own wooden spacers b/c they were too deep) I didn't read the "in dash" part before writing the following (on a cell phone), but rather than delete it, some users may be able to use this info I would assume so with the aux input. That being said, you might have to buy an adapter either from the manufacturer, or aftermarket, that usually costs more than this slickdeal. An alternative would to just use an MP3 CD, which will fit 12+ hours of music (depending on compression) which will be more than your CD changer will fit. So, to sum things up, yes it can, but chances are it'll cost you, depending who made your car. |
