I'm glad I read this thread. I didn't know Bluestacks existed. It's much more compatible with apps than AndroVM or Jar of Beans. I prefer the VirtualBox (AndroVM) or Jar of Beans (QEMU) method, i.e. using a full VM, but BlueStacks has much better compatibility at this point. I've been able to install and play a number of Android games from various HumbleBundles and was able to play Angry Birds Star Wars from the Google Play store on BlueStacks.
I should mention BlueStacks is a bit buggy. The main App interface keeps freezing and must be restarted. But the apps themselves actually work, so even if the AndroVM interface never freezes, it still won't play most of the apps I've tried.
