FYI-The way I understand it, Coleman makes two identical versions of these Insta-tents. One version for the big box stores like Target and Walmart that uses a much thinner fabric. The models sold at the higher end Sporting Good Stores and Amazon use Heavy duty 150D fabric. I have felt and seen both and you will definitely notice a difference.

The only problem with putting it on a tarp is that if it rains, then water is held against the bottom of your tent rather than allowing it to drain away. We did it once and had a pool in our tent. Won't do it again.
You're not supposed to leave the tarp exposed...especially on the high side/s. If you have the tarp folded under when using one, then there's no easy way for rain to get in between your tarp and the tent bottom.

9 people 2 queen beds? The math hasn't added up like that since 2 girls 1 cup....
not a matter of math but nomenclature. In tent speak 'a person' means a sleeping bag NOT matteress size. person tent means it can fit 9 sleeping bag.

How do u compare to this ?

That's just the rainfly...not the tent. The rainfly is what covers the tent and protects it from the elements. It helps with circulation as well when it rains. Like an umbrella for your tent Wink

For anyone getting this tent, you need to have a rainfly for it. I am not sure that they make one specifically for this tent, but I can assure you it will let rain in if caught in the elements.

If you aren't able to lift the tent to scan it, I'd recommend not purchasing it.

Went to my Target and was on clearance for $140. Not as good as $99 but still jumped on the deal. Saved an extra 5% with my red card. Thanks OP. I've been looking for a deal on this tent since last year. Repped.

Just saw two in my local Target (St. Louis area) down to $60 (70% off). That's an incredible deal. Almost pulled the trigger, but then realized I don't ever see myself using such a big tent.
