i have a case on the back of the phone that's a hassle to take off (pretty tight). otherwise i would consider a 2nd battery.

you aren't the only one but there really isn't much to be paranoid about here. higher current means more heat, if anything gets too hot for your comfort level when charging with the 2A port switch to the 1A port. being 3rd party doesn't really mean anything - as long as it isn't a counterfeit.

I thought I could combine them and got so excited when I tried and it looked like it worked. Then I noticed it only used the B1G1 and the rest of the discount came from my gift certificates.

Looks like these suffer from the lack of shorting the data pins together, unless you use the included 'high speed charging cable'.

In a nutshell, usb will only charge at .5 amp unless it detects the data pins shorted, then devices will switch to a higher charging amperage. So unless you have special high speed charging cables for your devices, or you take the charger apart and short/solder the data pins in it, it won't high speed charge a tablet or other high current device.

Never ordered one. My guess is that I'd search for "fast charge cable" and whatever connector you want (apple, mini usb, micro usb, ???) on amazon or google.

Someone else able to jump in here and recommend a good high speed charge cable, or is combining a charger that isnt meant to do this with a shorted cable a bad idea in a car? I'm just askin'
