Is it me or Target has changed its gift card policy? In the past, you could always use a gift card that was obtained from a past transaction to pay for a current transaction that offers free gift card once you've purchased the required merchandise (like buy 2 get one $10 free GC).

Today, Target wouldn't allow me to use any Target GC (obtained in the past) to pay for any transaction that involves the freebie $10 GC.

Target learns and wises up? If this is true, in the future it would be much harder to churn around Target freebie GCs.

As long as the two bought items belong to the list of qualified purchases, you'll receive the free GC.

That seems very odd considering you could have gotten a gift card from returning items or a gift from someone. I don't see why target would restrict you on how you want to pay for items.

Yes you can mix and match different size diapers and still get the GC.
The GC promotion (for diapers, forumula) is also going on instore. I just went and checked. Not sure if you can apply the 10% coupon though.

I couldn't agree more. But it seems Target no longer wants its customers to use a freebie obtained GC to pay for subsequent transactions that offer freebie GCs (like these baby product promotions). When you try to pay with a previously earned freebie GC, the system will ask "How much do you want for this GC?" It acts like you're trying to purchase the GC, not using it to pay for the transaction!

You'll get as many freebie $10 GC as you're entitled to, once you've bought the qualified baby items. But you can't use these freebie GCs to pay for any transaction that offers freebie GCs. That's what happened to me yesterday (I verified the GCs still had value on them by asking the cashier to verify their values)

Too bad the code is for online only, Similac formula is on sale and would have made a super slick deal when combined with the $5 Similac vouchers. Regardless, the current price ($23.99 each plus $10 gift card for buying 2) is a pretty good price when combined with either the vouchers in-store or this 10% off coupon line.

I paid with 2 gift cards on Sunday with no problem, not sure why you are unable to.
