Subway any regular foot-long sub $5 in February

Yeah. I haven't been to Subway for many months. Not worth it. All bread.

Wow, sounds like Subway varies a lot in some places... the ones near me have always been very clean, and the one I have gone to regularly for years has a friendly staff that gives well-filled, good subs.

Of course they vary. They're franchised.

subway sandwich shops in NY are horrible.

the few stores I've been to -- all the meat is measured down to a science. there's not much meat in that sandwich to fill me up. i'd rather spend an extra $2-3 and get a real sandwich. I stopped going ages ago and only walked into one on a whim when I needed to grab a quick bite with nothing else in the area. of course, nothing changed.

chipotle and qdoba also do it to a certain degree.

Call corporate and say what? I have 2-3 Little Caesar's locations within a 3 mile radius of me and they all switched to $6 a few months ago. They have new and very official looking signs made up with the corporate font and everything.

Tombstones frequently go on sale for $2.50 around here at both Walmart and Fred Meyer (the local Kroger affiliate). The normal price is usually around $3-$3.50. Red Baron is usually about in that same price range, but I generally find Tombstone tastier.

Tombstone's new line of "double topping" pizzas does run closer to the $5-$6 range.

All the ones hear in tampa have very nasty looking "artists", Now that i've been on low carb hardcore for a month, i don't crave bread much and sure as hell don't crave subway bread. I'd rather get a sandwich from a regular deli, at least you're supporting a local business. Jimmy johns gives decent meat in theirs. The lettuce wrap is nice, when you're out and want something fast.

Try Wegmans Subs [wegmans.com]. They are made by DiBella's, at least in Buffalo. You get so much meat even a guy like me can barely finish one. But, they are not $5.

Must be inflation. guess ill keep my fingers crossed.

My order of frozen pizzas goes like

Digiorno Italian Favorites > Jack's > Tombstone Double Top > Tombstone > Regular Digiorno > Everything else

Seriously, everyone do yourselfs a favor and check out the Italian favorites. The reg digirno always had that aftertaste that was more bread than pizza, but in the Italian favs they use basil and olive oil to really give it flavor. Closest thing you can get to a local joint/delivery, it's real.
