All I will say is, we live in a country riddled with obesity and entitlement. I find it pathetic people took the time to first measure the sandwich, then the nerve to file suit. I guess they feel entitled to the extra calories. I guess we should start measuring all products.
noticed that the thickness of the chicken breasts are tinner now
subway sandwich shops in NY are horrible.
the few stores I've been to -- all the meat is measured down to a science. there's not much meat in that sandwich to fill me up. i'd rather spend an extra $2-3 and get a real sandwich. I stopped going ages ago and only walked into one on a whim when I needed to grab a quick bite with nothing else in the area. of course, nothing changed.
chipotle and qdoba also do it to a certain degree.
yOO AH'MM cOMinn Taaa Da GHetto THNNN TA GITT Mee $um $UBwAyS
i agree, i never go there cuz the meat is shorted so bad, its like eating pure bread with the vegetables and mustard...i cant even taste the meat. i needed a quick bite the other day and figured what the hell let me get a footlong roast beef...it was even worse than two years ago, the portions of meat where horrible, i was better off taking the footlong and turning it into 6 inches and moving all the meat over to one side of the sandwitch and it still would be short of a typical sandwitch...subways PICTURES look nothing like the real sandwich.
I don't get it, why is this one clever? Beans are just like a veggie, they'll give you more of those anyway. Plus you are just loading up on...beans. Someone explain?
The half meat trick I'm going to use next time though :p
It isn't clever. Any moron could figure out to ask for two types of beans and two types of meat and you would get more than if you had only asked for one or the other. THe simple fact that it was written up as a "life hack" is laughable. I am convinced that the writer wrote it tongue in cheek, especially when he talks about strategies to pull off asking for another type of beans/meat. "Make it seem like you changed your mind". Genius.
Just looked at the website, and had some questions.
Last year, the steak and cheese was $5, but on the website, its saying its $6. Are the steak and cheeses not $5? I see that the steak, egg and cheese is $5, think i could just get that and ask for no cheese?
yes. you are only getting half the steak since the egg makes up for the other half.
You guys need to live in a place with a Vietnamese community. Bahn Mi is the way to go. You can get a fancy one for about $4-5, or just go to the Vietnamese grocer and get a bag of 4-5 for $10 .
As far as Subway goes, there is one reason to eat there. They're the only sub shop that you can get a reasonably low sodium sandwich if you plan it out right. Sure, Jersey Mike's, Jimmy Johns, etc. have better tasting food, but you're also eating your entire days worth of sodium in one meal.
most the time i do carryout i usually call first or at leats know what i want before arrival.
im thinking between the oven roasted chicken and spicy italian, i hope the chicken breast is good, but i know the spicy italian will deliver. the question is will it be enough meat? if i eat that sub and im still hungry im gonna be pissed.
