I bought a bunch of these last year on a similar Amazon deal. These chips taste healthy - in other words, pretty bland. Healthy & tasting great is a tough ask.

I don't see what the difference is between these and other "unhealthy" chips.

A serving of Lays Barbeque has only 1g of saturated fat, 150mg of sodium (7% daily value), no trans fat, and no MSG. Not too shabby in health terms. At 160 calories, it's about 50 calories more than these Pop Chips, but is 50 calories difference that much to sweat over? If so, you shouldn't be eating chips in the first place.

+50 calories/day * 5 days/week * 52 weeks/yr * 1 lb fat/3500 cal = 3.71 lbs/year

Who says you have to eat this every day for a year? Skip a day per week--problem solved. Besides, eating the same thing every day for a year will make anyone sick of it... even steak or ice cream. Let alone a "healthy chip alternative."

Consuming anything throughout the course of a 365 day year will "add up" to something. Even Ex-Lax. You're doing something wrong if 50 kcal is throwing your diet off course in a 2000-calorie/day diet.

Instead of penny-pinching calories, it's probably a lot more important and effective to look at what TYPE of calories you're consuming. You want to eat something that promotes satiety, such foods with a higher fat, protein, or fiber to carbs ratio. Fat, protein, and fiber will fill you up a lot faster than the equivalent calories comprised of carbs.

LOL. You aren't including TOTAL fat; not to mention, they're fried.

A lot of people take their lunches and pack some chips. The idea is if you think these taste just as good as Lays then why not save the 3-4 lbs a year of fat? Personally, I don't even like Lays - too greasy.

For me, it's all about small changes that don't affect my enjoyment of food (I happen to really like pop chips!), but do affect my waistline. As an example, fat-free mayo is pretty awful, but mustard, on the other hand, is a much lower calorie and very tasty substitute for sandwiches.

Your last paragraph is spot on. My point is more about fine tuning after that.

Not really arguing...but Personal Trainers are your end all for what is healthy and what is not healthy? I think I would go for a Nutritionist for that type of info.

They are snack-foods. Not healthy, but healthier than most "chips" out there.

And they taste fantastic.
