As long as it has the right number of 6pin/8pin power connectors, you should be set. I've seen a 650w corsair run a 3770k & GTX 570 SLI. This PSU will run basically everything unless you want Tri/quad/4way SLI/ Tri/Quad-fire. If you want those set ups, you already know what PSU (or 2 for the 4 card set ups) you need. I have an 850w corsair and that fan only ever kicked on with my 5ghz 2600k / gtx 570 sli set up while runnind 3D mark. Games & the latter never do anything. Since seasonic is, for all intents and purposes, better, this is a solid purchase. I'm "this" close to buying one as it is. Hope this helps. |

Get over yourself, if you want to buy the PSU, buy it. If you want to pay a premium than pay it. You should join a deal site that everyone posts how you like. |

I have this PSU, got it from my own wheeling and dealings in November during "Black Friday Week" wherein they shot an email deal and had already discounted it. Grabbed it for a cool hundo.
This psu is AWESOME. No one posts it enough, but it comes in A BLACK VELVET BAG, along with a dual pocketed velcro pouch for all the cables (sata/molex in one/pci-e, atx and mobo power cords in the other). It's a bit overkill for my rig, and it only makes noise (albeit very little noise) when its pumping out some juice- the fan only kicks on when its at 20% load. When it does kick on, I can't hear it. Anyone who's debating picking this up, do it. Very satisfied. |

I can confirm about the length of the power cables being a bit short. I have an Antec P280 (don't get one) and the cable management can be a bit stressful as the big boy cords are a little short. If they had like an extra 3 inches, this wouldn't be a problem. Sorry to go off topic, but fenix do you like those extensions? My cable managment is barf city ATM, and I was looking at either going super cheap with some monoprice (yuck) or doing it proper and rocking the bitfenix cables. |

About the link you gave, obviously it is true for a single 5870 card which the author used. but it is completely a different story with OCed 7970 * 2. From the configuration of the OP, budget seems not to be an issue and thus he deserves a much better PSU (e.g., 80 Platinum one with higher power) than this. In the end, why people are preferred to buy a car with 4.0L+ engine even for most of time it overkills, when budget is not a problem? Last edited by jinrf; 01-28-2013 at 12:17 PM.. |
