I got one of these for my FreeNAS box awhile back for $199. Setup a deal alert because I wanted to pick up another for HA (gonna switch to Open filer).

Anyone know if these ever drop to $199 anymore, or is this the best I can hope for?

I hadn't heard that, but I'd want to keep them the same model, since I'll have the two boxes in a cluster...

I'm thinking about jumping on this even more now.

$99 is a price that's never to be repeated, but you know SDer's - if it was that price once then even $1 above it is simply not worth... (Not that $250 is a great price or anything).

Hasn't been that price since April. I'd doubt it, esp with the next model coming out.

N50L coming out pretty soon with faster chip.... then again, why buy something older and slower...If you just need a NAS, it's great for that. I find Windows a bit slow for me, but maybe because I'm used to OS X.
