What kind of cost are these to run

^ ^ curious about that as well...

some of they reviews say they cost a lot to run but nothing specific.

I'm not in for one because there are quite a few bad reviews.

how good is quality? is 49 an average deal or slick deal considering that these will be comming out on clearence as winter ends..

You can look up your cost per kw/h on your electric bill and bring up an online calculator to see what it would cost to run a 1500w appliance for n hours. I think when I ran it it was in the ball park of $3.60 per day if ran for 24 hours. Per BTU it's about the most expensive way you can heat your home unless you have munincipal electric at a reduced cost or something. However, if you only use a room or two you can save money sometimes by zone heating. For example turning your main thermostat down to 55, then toasting up the living room with this guy. Electric heaters all cost the same to run really. They are all expensive if you're running them as any sort of main heat source.

I bought one when it was $50 after a $30 rebate. It heats a room fairly well. I don't know how much it costs to operate, but my house only has resistive heat anyways so it probably isn't any worse.

$49 is a nice price with no rebates although Tigerdirect rebates typically come back fast.

Electric heat is expensive but these would be good for occasional use. I have a 1500w space heater in a guest room that I hooked up to a Kill A Watt meter and I can't remember what it ended up using exactly but I figured it cost about a buck a day to use it all night and maybe an hour or two during the day.

Great deal ... Haven't seen these heaters this low
