I doubt pirated versions allow you to do updates through turbotax. I've bought from ecrater.com before. no issues in the past. Also, the basic is a free software I thought.

The problem is you're not buying from ecrater, you're buying from some place called str8bargains. This looks like some weird ebay clone. Thanks for the post, but I'm going to pass

Updating is not an issue with pirated versions because there is no key required for activation. Or at least there hasn't been in past years. Did they start this year?

There is a difference between trying to save money the right way (which this website is about) versus cheating/ripping off companies by pirating their software.
