Deal Details

Did not see this posted anywhere so I figured I'd put it up.

It would appear that Sam's Club (possibly all of them but possibly only some) has canceled the Simply Right (in-house) brand of whey protein and has priced them to clear. This item is not on their website however I found it at the Deptford, NJ location. They had 33 left.

YMMV since you need to find a club that stocks it and one that has priced it to clear. I tried it and it wasn't bad tasting and mixed pretty good. Expiration date on my bag is June 2014.

Nutrition Information:

120 calories
23g protein
3g carbs

I've uploaded a picture. I found the product in the 'Health and Beauty' section.

Amazon [amazon.com] has it for about $40 shipped, but no reviews.

The ON is 24g protein @ 130 calories and is 75% protein per serving. About 42 dollars for four pounds.

The Simply Right is 23g protein @ 120 calories and is 77% protein per serving. About 20 dollars for four pounds.

Course there's other stuff involved like taste, mix-ability, use of natural and artificial sweeteners, and other stuff added to it. But from a purely protein per dollar assessment (and the fact that it has good expiration and taste) the cheap stuff is a decent choice in my opinion.

At the end of the day, I won't lie, I'll buy whatever protein is cheapest and won't kill me. Course I'm not exactly wealthy, so I'm not in a position to spend more than I have to. At the end of the day you have to take what your comfortable taking (and able to take) and what works for you. I posted this because the price and taste works for me. I can't speak for results yet but it should be pretty acceptable.

Now, had I gotten in on the CVS deal, I'd be so stocked up I wouldn't need this, but ya gotta live for the deals you can get.

No luck here. I could only find 2lb packs of Simply Right Vanilla Whey, and they were $18.99 I believe.

Sorry to hear that. If there was a C in the top right corner of the price tag, it is cancelled and hopefully a price drop will be coming.

Thanks Op, passed by Sams club. That stupid guest pass posted in the Wiki didn't work at my Sams Club when I brought a printed copy. They said the PDF should have some guest number, even though I told them I got it from the web and even showed them on my iPhone the PDF.

So, I bought $40 membership since they had some $10 gift card promotion so it ended up being $30 membership -- a membership I'm planning on returning for a full refund.

Anyhow, bought ten 4lb packages. This should last me nearly 2 years if I drink one serving a day (unlikely) and miss a few days here and there. Taste is good, I'd say it's better than most. Not as good as ON Whey they have at Costco. That's at the top in taste. I also like Muscle Milk better. But this definitely won't go to waste.

I'm lactose intolerant so the Muscle Milk works perfect since it has little or no lactose. Also, ON Whey from Costco is pure isolate so that also doesn't give me cramps, just a little gas. Will update if this Simply Right brand works out in the gas department.

Membership is fully refundable, so you can return it for sure. They're so lame with the one day pass thing, the policy seems to change depending on who is working and what club you are at. Glad you were able to get on the deal and hopefully it is easy on your system.

I had a different experience. I printed out the one on the sam's club page. The rep said I brought in last years 1 day pass, but it didn't bother him. Btw this protein expires in 1 year and 4 months! so drink up!

I cleaned out the San Fernando, CA store. The female cashier didn't even charge me the 10% service fee. I guess lifting really helps. buahahaha! but she did rip up my one day pass card, so I can't go to any others Frown

Thanks OP; picked up some yesterday, and I must say the taste is not bad at all! Very subtle sweetness and vanilla flavor, but it doesn't have that icky protein taste.

I agree, Taste is mild and good, not like the usual stuff they carry at Sam's "MuscleTech", and it doesn't taste like the over sweetened vanilla from Vitamin Shoppe's "Whey Tech".

4lbs for $20, can't beat it,

Thanks! I'm in for 2 bags, should last me for a couple months. I agree about the taste; very mild and not chalky or gritty at all. Smooth.

To others that think they may have cleaned out their Sam's Club, they seem to bring more out from the back room once floor stock dwindles. Well, that's my experience.

Just an update to my previous review, since I'm lactose intolerant. The gas factor for me is little to none. Probably the lowest on the gas index rivaling Muscle Milk which claims to have no lactose. I went back to Sams Club and bought 6 more bags for a total of 16 (64 lbs) . Woah, that's 960 servings. Going to need some cold storage, no way am I getting thru these by the 6/14 expiration.

Just went to my local sam's thinking they would be out by now...picked up the last 5 that were there. I might go back tomorrow to see if they are going to bring any more from the back.
