I'm the same way. I used to always have desks like this, but usually wound up feeling claustrophobic. Nowadays I like just a wide open surface to work on, even if it was just a card table.

It is a nice little desk though, I'm just a bit "off".

Last time I'm shopping at Office Depot. I placed my order after hours on Tuesday for store pickup. Go this morning as soon as they open to pick it up, they've already sold it - never got a call or anything from them. Got my ready for pickup notice Wednesday morning and noted the 48 hour window - which I would have expected to be Friday morning. Ugh. And it looked like such a nice desk!

Picked up 2 last night. They were heavy but did fit in my mini-van.

Picked one up in Antique Black yesterday. Easy to put together!! I love it!! This is a heavy desk....nice and sturdy!! excellent for $80!! def does not look cheap...you can't beat the price.

They tried that #^%$ on me too, saying someone else called and asked for it. I said "Do you see that person? Do you see my order saying its supposed to be sitting here waiting for me to pick it up? I already paid for it. Its mine."

Of course, they had to check and make sure they had more (which they did) and I had to wait around for them to go get the pack of stupid erasers. I remembered why I haven't been in Office Depot for around 2 years.

Really nice desk. Well made. The parts are all broken into small bags, one per 'step' in the instructions. Very clear directions, and the parceling out of the parts made this extremely easy to build. Usually I'm cursing everyone who was involved with producing a 'built it yourself' piece of furniture. I'd buy from this company again and again.

i got one, for daughter.. as well the matching bookcase and a chair (all 3 from office depot)
but wife has vetoed all 3 so i will be taking them back office depot.
