Gurin Infrared Ear Thermometer $20 + FS + FR

I was looking for something else when I found this deal. I already own this thermometer and use it frequently. My family loves it.

Gurin Infrared Ear Thermometer [groupon.com]

Although this is advertised as a kids thermometer, I use it for everyone in the family including adults and senior members. It has been accurate (cross checked with basal thermometer which takes LOOONG) and this thermometer has been very fast.

I bought it from amazon for $25. It is currently unavailable in amazon [amazon.com]. (ASIN: B004AMX8SK) 63 reviews with 4 star. I chose this product over other ear thermometers because this does not have any part that needs to be replaced often and ofcourse it shows good temperature.

I am buying two as gifts. I hope this will be useful to others as well. IMHO a must have with newborn babies / toddlers.

Even though Braun has very good reviews on amazon, the only reason I went with Gurin is the lens filter. Each time you use braun, you need to use a new lens filter. For me, it seemed to be a hassle to keep track of the lens filters and keep refilling them when needed. shake head

To ensure the accuracy of every temperature reading, a new clean lens filter should be used for each measurement. Lens filters protect the tip from scratches, as well as from impurities such as earwax, which might adversely affect the accuracy. Furthermore, exchanging the lens filter before every temperature reading virtually eliminates the risk of spreading germs from one person to the next.

For ease of use, a lens filter detector makes sure that a lens filter always is in place, and a lens filter ejector makes removing used lens filters as easy as can be.

Really? May be I am paranoid or something, I have it for a year and I have used it a zillion times on my baby. And everytime I use it one him, I test it on myself and my husband (if he is around) just to make sure its doing its job. laugh out loud
