Some Best buy stores have this in stock again, though not sure how to approach a PM now

I stopped by Walmart after work yesterday and noticed this set was priced at $1598. The manager, Drew, was in the Electronics Department and he told me they had none in stock, which kind of defeats the price reduction. Anyway, he also told me that my set was on order and he didn't forget about me. I appreciate his going the extra mile; excellent customer service. Although I really like this set, I didn't love it. However, at $1598 I am head-over-heels ecstatic with the 70LE640U.

Oh, I haven't look at Walmart TVs in a couple years. I must say their selection has drastically improved and they're probably giving Costco and Best Buy a lot of competition.

My goodness you actually got one! I'm still trying to find a good TV at good price to fill my new house which currently has Verzion Fios Ultimate which is kind of a going to a waste on the only TV in the house, an ancient 32" Emprex from 2006/'07.

The funny thing is that 32" draws as TWICE much power as a modern 70"! 190 watts!

Being as this "deal" was really only obtained by a few people and is over two weeks old, you are surprised it is dead?

oh, and it went up to $2298 in one of my local stores too! Which really means nothing as they only had the display and won't sell it.

Actually just emailed walmart.com explaining to them that I have been trying to get the tv and was never in stock and I tried multiple stores and asked to match the price and they agreed. They verified store price was $1598 and said they will match after order placed.

Wow, that's a good deal. So they will do $1598 delivered for you?

Did you do this today or a day or two ago? Seems like the price has changed today so unsure if they'll still honor the sale price?

Yea, pricematch was verified from email, still waiting on the delivery of the tv though

Update: well, I received a call from Drew this afternoon. He said his order was cancelled because this item is no longer carried by Walmart. He offered to see me the display model for that price, but I get the feeling that set has been in use 24x7 for quite sometime and doesn't come with a box. He also offered to sell me their last Vizio 70 which, according to him, they will no longer carry in store. I'm really not interested in the Vizio, plus it's actually $50 dollars less at Costco and comes with a 2nd year warranty and 3% cash back on my Amex card. Anyway, I have until tomorrow to decide if I want the display model.

I may just write Walmart to see what they can do.
