500 lumen multi-mode 3C LED Feit flashlight two-pack for $25 @ Costco B&M (6x Duracell C's included)

After "playing" with these a bit, they seem like a great buy! $12.50 each and that includes batteries.

Bought these, I am happy. Build quality is not the greatest, minor issues with the zoom being difficult to move on 1 and an inconsistent power on button, but for the price, they are a good deal.

Anyone know if these things are regulated?

It stated as "Weather Resistant" and almost all type of LED flashlight will have some kind of seal ring inside. My Fenix TK35 is rated 2 Meter Waterproof and submersible.... but of course you pay a high end in price. Retail is about $105 but I got my for about $75. I am a flashlight freak but this flashlight is a great deal when compared to lumen to dollar cost.

I paid for this Life Gear Lantern Super Bright LED 180 Lumens from Buy.com when it was on sale. It is also using "C" battery but with lumen at only 180.

two things I don't like about these lights.
First is the square head..
Second is the lack of a cone of light.. so when it is in square mode that is the only light you get is that one tiny square which seems useless to me.

Funny that the zoom was the selling point to me. A little while ago while doing some car work another zoom light was very helpful. It was like daylight in that little spot I was working on. So when I saw this one today with twice as many lumens and the same zoom capability, I was all over it and only had to check if the price was right. Thanks to this thread I found out fast that the price was good so I bought them even though I have a shitload of lights all over the house.

I just found an interesting feature of this flashlight.
It has four modes, high, low, strobe, SOS.
I thought you had to press the button which turned it off, then hit it again to go to the next mode.
In fact you turn in on with the click and the switch actually rocks.. so you can rock it through the modes without ever turning it off or pushing the switch all the way in. A light tap switches modes.

I think I found how I like this light. I believe at about 50% zoom you get a wide enough beam, but a long enough throw to be just about perfect for basic use.

As mentioned here, I also ran into the issue where the "zoom head on one of my lights has no friction and just free floats due to manufacturing defect".

One was fine the other wasn't, so I am just going to exchange it. Otherwise like the lights.

For reference, the second set of exchanged flashlights were fine.
