Thread Details

Jaycar (Australian distributor) has the Digitech Pro Monitor Headphones for 50 USD + 20 USD shipping to continental US = 70 USD.

Jaycar [jaycar.com]

I just bought a pair to try out, thought I'd share it here. The sound is expected to be neutral (meaning studio level reproduction, ie people that like bass-heavy music or treble crazy trance should stay away).

The headphones are touted to be rebranded Yoga CD-880s, which are also rebranded into Brainwavz HM-5, Fischer Audio FA-003, Lindy Premium Hi-Fi headphones. HM5 costs $130, FA003 $200 (with "special velour pads") and Lindy (75 GBP). Not entirely sure if the price difference means upgrades or tuning or brand name premium, but head-fi users seem to think the drivers are the same [head-fi.org].

as for the vendor, its a fairly well known electronics store in australia.

Link goes to the Jaycar AUS site with the higher AUD price. Here's the link for the jaycar.us site with the USD price - http://www.jaycar.us/productView....rm=KEYWORD

So after reviewing their shipping options if your total purchase price is up to $49.99 shipping is $7.50 USD but if you go one cent over and total purchase is $50 shipping will cost your $20. Shipping kills the deal IMO.

yes. the headphones were 50 cents cheaper (and so $13 less) for a few days in 2011, they quickly put it back once head-fi people jumped on the price. 70 USD for a 163 USD equivalent (read: clone, not knockoff) set of cans is a great deal imo. If anyone is interested I can give them a pm about what I think of the cans when they finally arrive.

I paid $140 for my Brainwavz HM5, and I thought that was a good deal (Look at the FA-003's!). Anyhow they sound great, going to get another pair.

-Thanks OP!
