Yes, I got a pair of these for free and after 3 months they were falling apart.

I found out about Athletechs this past summer when someone found a deal for $5 each. I ended up with 4 of them just to see, and I love them! Very good quality for being so cheap-- I haven't even gone through my first pair yet!

As always, men with large feet are not welcome in your shoe stores.

Close, Nike usually builds shoes at factories that it owns, but it's entirely possible that these came down the same assembly line as Asics, Reeboks, Fila, NB, etc.

As far as build quality, there's nothing about being cheap that has any impact on specific build quality. The price is based on things like intricate designs, cutting patterns (more or less material waste), materials (mesh, synthetic leather, leather, etc), components (shoelace eyelets, plastic heelcup, plastic arch support in the heel) and complexity (which is everything from color stamping to multiple EVA soles, and so on, basically anything that would slow down production and increase labor costs).

Then there's the post-production costs like shipping, manufacturer's markup, advertising and retailer markup. Many retailers will charge an "advertising fee" for your product to show up in their circular, which means that as a consumer, *you're* paying for it in the end.

But the actual construction (sturdiness) has little to do with price. Glue is glue, and time spent in the heat tunnel is standard across almost everything. These may be crap shoes that were poorly made, but that doesn't have anything to do with how cheap they are.

Code works only on men's shoes!! Though cant complain bought 2 pairs for 25 dollars good deal!

It makes me laugh... If you make $30 an hour these shoes cost what you make in 17 minutes and we get upset if they only last 3 months.

Does anyone know if these shoes have flat arches (for flat feet)?
