Convert bestbuy/amazon gift cards to paypal/$?

2,372 563 January 28, 2013 at 09:39 PM
I want to buy something on ebay that isnt offered on amazon (a vaporizer to be exact). I currently have $55 in bestbuy GC's (and slowly growing) due to the $5 small device recycle deal. I can either leave it as is in BB GC's or convert to amazon GC's. What would be the most effect way to convert to paypal/money? I know of sites like plastic jungle but im seeing if there is a more efficient way of doing this. I heard about amazon payments but have never used it.

I also traded in a textbook. Would there be a way to convert this as well?

Sorry, I can't help but your post just made me realize you can convert your rewards to Amazon.com gift cards. I should have done that a long time ago, rather than purchasing and returning what I bought to get the points credited back!

I think the easiest way is to buy amazon gc with bb gc. Then use the amazon gc to buy gifts in the future. Use your regular money to buy what you want now on ebay. Most other methods will make you lose value on your bb gc. I think it makes more sense to remember that money saved or a gift card used on one purchase is the same in the long run on another purchase. of course this assumes you can buy the item on ebay right now with paypal.

Being a broke college student I might not have an option. Seems there is no good way to convert. In your experience what is the best way? If I see how much $ I'm losing by converting then I can decide if it's worth it. If I lose to much $ in the process then I might have no option but to buy straight up

my suggestion would be to buy the amazon gift cards and then sell them at full value to family members or gift them out. If you can afford to pay for gifts a little early, you could always get physical gift cards with the amazon gift cards for a birthday or something and then use paypal for what you want to buy. Or you can find someone to give you cash for the physical gift card. I do not do another way. There is supposedly a way with amazon payments but I do not know it sorry
