The cinematics and graphics are tremendous and it plays like 5 with a little bit of getting used to with the new controls/menus. I'll admit that it isn't as relatively accessible to longtime fans (such as myself) as the previous games in the series were, but change is never easy. Normally, when you overhaul something as ubiquitous as the interface of some familiar game or software (RE6, Windows 8, Photoshop Elements 11), you end up with a 50/50 split between haters and those willing to adapt.

I also believe that a lot of the contempt for the game started with Gamespot's 4.5 score right off the bat. That influenced a lot of people to look at the game through foggy goggles. Lastly, don't forget that there was a massive update in December that addressed a ton of the complaints regarding camera plus the 2nd update from last week allows the QTE to be done automatically. Props to Capcom for listening to the fans and fixing their game instead of waiting until 7.
