Sunglasses Frames with Prescription Lenses TL;DR: Is there a difference between the eyeglass frame used in sunglasses or prescription glasses? |

check with your optometrist, but generally yes. i checked with my old optometrist a few years ago, and they told me if i bought frames outside of their store they would charge extra for fitting and cutting prescription lenses as opposed to buying the frames in store. even if they were the same brand and model. ie., if i bought a pair of $150 wayfarers in-store they'd charge me $X, but if i bought cheap ones on amazon during a sale, they'd cost $X+ 50 or something.
Rumble, young man, rumble. These are interesting times we live in. Punctuation is key. Fruit is nature's candy.

Now if you bought $5 sunglasses at the gas station, they would most likely not be able to put new lenses in the cheap frames. |

Note, when you place the order for the Rx suns, you can either have the optical match the exact tint color and type for the original lenses or you can do something totally different. It's up to you. By the way, not all non-Rx suns can be made into prescription--i.e. wrap-around goggle type or some rimless types. However, for wayfarers, it shouldn't be a problem.
