awesome notebook, it is quite thin and light to carry with, it will be convenient to travel with, the price is cheap, maybe i can buy one, anyway, i like dell's computers, it is with high quality and high performance.

Pulled the trigger, hope it's worth it.

I did not find any one at $845 to apply the coupon. I only see $849 one.

oh okay. i've done that before, but only when my computer crashed haha. i don't dl any exe's from the internet so my computer is actually really fast. anyway, i was doing it in applied statistics, but i finished the program and got a job thankfully. thanks again for your help!

Is this officially dead? I'm really in need of a decent ultrabook and this looks to perfectly fit the bill besides being a refurb.

If you really want an ultrabook, the Toshiba u845w-s400 ultrabook has the same cpu, a wider screen, more ram, bigger hard drive, better speakers, hdmi out, and costs only a couple of dollars more than this deal did. It is a bit wider than a 13", but I bought one a couple weeks ago and actually quite like the widescreen. Also if you can find an Open Box at your local Best Buy, they currently have a 10% off coupon.

So I've used the i7/256gb version of this laptop (Sandy Bridge fwiw) and it IS a good laptop but NOT for the price Dell wants, waaaaay too much.

The i5/128gb for $500ish is much more like it.

I'm disappointed with ALL the current Dell models because of the mediocre screens, Dell has really cheaped out.

The XPS 13 UB is amazingly small and thin, and at least the one I used (i7/256gb) is super fast. The 4gb soldered on ram is no problem because if/when Windows "pages" to disk, it's super fast with that ssd.

If you want something to sit on your lap (literally) or go in your purse/briefcase, for basic tasks (email, web, Office), it's pretty darn good. Just don't pay $1000+.

I think Dell is realizing the current XPS lineup is WAY overpriced, so expect prices to fall (as well as Dell's stock price).

Afaik, the Ivy Bridge model offers no major improvements, but perhaps saves some battery (uses less power in theory).

Hm, the widescreen is odd. Unfortunately it has no SSD so throw an extra $150 on that with a Windows 8 upgrade and it begins to get a little pricey. I like that the memory is expandable though.

I'm really conflicted on what do get right now. I''m not looking to spend much more than $600, which I'll mostly be getting by selling my Asus G53SW.

Actually it does have a 32GB SSD along with the 500GB drive, so you don't have to throw in anything. If you wanted to upgrade to Windows 8, I chose not to, it is only $14. It also has the SD slot that the Dell apparently doesn't have, and it is brand new, not refurbished.

I actually just got Windows 8 seconds ago and I've started downloading it on my desktop. I'm looking for something with at least a 128gb ssd plus has some style. Should have pulled the trigger on the dell when I could. Thanks for the recommendation though! Hopefully something else comes down the hot deal pipeline within the next week.

Is it possible to downgrade Windows 8 on this Dell laptop to Windows 7?

i received the laptop but the AC Adapter was the wrong one. It has a much bigger pin than the laptop. Anyone had this same error?

Yes I also received wrong AC adapter. Called dell tech support and they'll be sending the right AC adapter.
