I pulled the trigger on the Panasonic TC-P65ST50 last night from Amazon Warehouse for $1,880. Now I'm reading the Panasonics are more susceptible to image retention. The Samsungs supposedly fair better in this respect but it's not conclusive. Ordering the PN64E7000 and doing an in house shootout seems excessive. What to do, what to do...

64"? I'm not familiar with that size.

It's larger than a 60" but smaller than a 65".

I have this set and it's got a very noticeable directional buzzing sound. If you sit straight on viewing the set, it is really bad to the point of not watchable for me. I switched out the set and it was the same exact thing. From some forums, I've read people switching out 5 times or so and still getting the same problem, might be a couple lucky ones out there that don't have the problem though. Everything else is good besides this buzzing sound. I ended up mounting it a lot higher than eye level and the buzzing isn't as noticeable, but still there. I'm thinking it might be more of a problem on a screen this size of 64"+. I also have a 50 inch Zenith Plasma that is pretty much silent.

Not in the market but man, that's a great deal

This tv has way too many issues to take a chance on, avoid this product.

I have a C series and as long as you do the normal 100 break in period you should be fine. Whatever retention I get goes away within 5 minutes of running the scrolling feature if it's a bad case. I did however run break in slides for 500 houirs to be safe a didn't play any games till after then as well. I love this set no problems and had it for almost 3 years now.
