SONY 17.3" laptop 1080p Notebook i5 3210M 6GB 500GB 7650M - 649.99 +FS

I wish they'd have all 4 usb's 3.0 instead of just 1 being 3.0. It looks like a good laptop.

My buddy has one. It is a good machine. I'm not a fan of 17".... but this thing is quick.

Got this just before thanksgiving through sony education website (10% off). Paid $640 for i7 quad core, upgraded battery but 4gb ram, 320gb hdd and built-in graphics card. This seems to be comparable. I obviously was able to customize based on my needs when i bought it and then swapped the hdd with an ssd. Its a great machine overall except that the trackpad could have been a bit bigger. Very fast and HOT looking!!! Also solid battery life for 17 incher with my upgraded battery. Hate windows 8 though

Is this a touch screen? Can you use Windows 8 without problems if there's no touch screen?

Make that $599 and I'm feeling it a lot more, otherwise, I think I could hold out for a bit and find something better.
