Exchanging airline miles for FREE (from almost any airline to any airline)

The exchange rates are horrible - this is NOT how you want to move miles and/or points between programs unless you need to top off (small amount) or unless your miles are going to expire and you need activity (in that case, you only transfer a SMALL amount of miles and/or points). A few exceptions are when you have orphaned miles, etc. that you won't use any and can put them to good use elsewhere. All in all, horrible option.

Be aware, it isn't "free." Points.com makes profits in the transaction because it isn't an even 1:1 exchange rate.

Agreed to all, as I mentioned, if you want to use expiring or orphaned miles or need to top up say 500 miles, isn't this a good alternative. And let points.com make money, but still won't you get the required top-up or some use from your otherwise expired miles without paying anything?

lol, You get 8000 delta SkyMiles for 20000 United Miles and on top $200 trading fee. Who is that dumb?
