I am planning to hook this up to 4 27" monitors running at 2560 by 1440. Right now I have a NVIDIA Quadro NVS 450 running on a Q6600 quad core w 4gb of ram. I have noticed huge slowdowns on my computer from installing the 4 monitors. Does this thing have the power to display 4 monitors and can I run two video cards on it simultaneously? Right now I cant even play 1080p video on my old computer.
They got rid of any chance of removing the monitor. The order tower and the monitor is one complete order now, instead of separates. I called in and tried just for kicks and they said the promotion was only for the combo. Just letting you guys know that wanted to try it.
So you actually bought it to see that they weren't broken out separately?
This seems ok for someone who wants a moderately high end workstation, but this is not a gaming system until you ditch that $50 GTX 640 and drop $250+ on a new video card (GTX 660 or better). Assuming the power supply can handle that, hard to say.
Assuming I could sell the monitor for $200, I could build this system for $700ish including windows license. $100 Dell tax.
Edit - I cannot find power supply specs anywhere. No way to know if this can handle a decent video card add in or not. Makes me sad.
