On 1/28 when I ordered the rebates were not listed there. I also notice in the TD rebate center, there are no rebates for Western Digital at all. |

This thread was posted on the 29th, so it seems you ordered before that. Last edited by calistyle; 01-30-2013 at 11:31 PM.. |

TD-8320 [highspeedbackbone.net] - 01/21/13 to 01/23/13 TD-8481 [highspeedbackbone.net] - 01/24/13 to 01/26/13 TD-8483 [highspeedbackbone.net] - 01/27/13 to 02/02/13 As long as you ordered within one of those time frames, you should qualify for the $30 MIR. Whether or not it was actually listed on the product page is inconsequential. TigerDirect's product pages don't always update the rebate forms properly, but if it was on 4MyRebates.com at any point in time, it's definitely valid. It further goes to prove the point that the rebate existed since the Instruction Form is still being hosted on TigerDirect's rebate server (highspeedbackbone.net). As I previously stated, I would recommend calling 4MyRebate first and try to get them to do a phone registration for you. Be forceful and tell them that you are unable to register online, for whatever reason, and give them the Offer Code, as mentioned in the Wiki. If they refuse (highly unlikely), then you might want to consider your other options. My next step would be to contact TigerDirect's Customer Service, informing them of the situation, or you could choose to refuse the package or initiate a charge-back on your credit card for the $30 MIR which was supposed to be part of the deal. If you have any additional questions, feel free to PM me. Last edited by TDMVP73; 01-31-2013 at 12:08 AM.. |

Just got off the phone with the rebate center and I was told that the manufacturer had withdrawn the rebate and that it was no longer valid.... I'm pretty pissed off... Emailed TigerDirect customer service and I will also contact WD... I never would have purchased the drive without the rebate...

The rebate is part of the offer, it is part of what you are buying, and can be the ultimate consideration of why you make the purchase. |

I saw your posts and decided to contact myrebates.com. Was told that the rebate was cancelled and I should call TigerDirect, which I did.
I was told by TD that they never advertised the rebate offer on their website, therefore it wasn't a valid offer. I was offered $30 store credit or return item for full refund. I told them no. I also let them know that the rebate offer was valid at some point in time as some people were able to register on the myrebates.com or through phone contact. Also asked to speak to a supervisor when the conversation with the rep was going nowhere. End result: They refunded me $30 to my CC. You just have to be persistent, straight, and honest. The rep I spoke to was helpful. His name was Willie Riley (not sure if you can ask to speak to him as he must likely understands the situation better after this contact). GL TO MY FELLOW SDers! Wow. Not cool tigerdirect. I'm going to give em a call later.
Edit: Just got off the phone with TD, and the csr told me that there will be an email heading my way soon. I'll give another update once I receive it. Last edited by endlesssssssss; 02-08-2013 at 01:14 PM.. |

Like I said earlier, as far back as when this thread started there was no mention of the rebate on the product page, at least for the 1TB drive. I've checked a couple times since then and it was never there. I was able to get my rebate registered by calling in about a week ago, but I'm not sure why this thread was moved back to hot deals. If the rebate was never listed on the product page, then TD has every right to say it was never a valid offer. This rebate deal was suspect from the beginning, and it's just causing people hassles.

i spent over an hour with a TD "head" CS supervisor with no resolution. she offered a refund or $20 TD gift card. she kept saying she wasn't allowed to b/c it was the manufacturers rebate....
i refused both, wasted an hour and now soo pissed off at them. i've spent some serious money (thanks to SD) over the last 2 years. |
