here is one to show you what they look like http://classbforum.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t they have 4 poles on each side , the cheaper ones have 3 , plus look at the size of the tubes on the link, I saw one a couple years ago from Sams club , same heavy construction but it had wind flaps near the top to let air pressure out so it did not turn into a kite as easy..... the roof lasts about 2 years in Los Angeles sun with no heavy winds trying to pull it apart , you can get replacement tops.... Now for a huge party or the like or even the slightest weather conditions I would go for a better and heavier model.... Last edited by Phyxius; 01-30-2013 at 08:44 PM.. Reason: Had to get rid of the Hugs...LOL |

I used to set up 2 professional 10 x 20 tents for shows (car shows) regularly - pro stuff has good poles and steel connectors. Poles were chain link fence poles.
I have a screen house that has the style thin steel and plastic connectors that I used 1 time for a cook out. It was secured properly and staked down and the wind (mild) was strong enough to bend the crap pipes/poles and flip the think over. Canopy is great but frame is junk. can't expect any better from this. Do yourself a favor and spend more - BJ's always has one similar in size but all metal structure and better poles for around $250... yes more than double, but you get what you pay for. $100 on this is throwing away money. Everything is complicated when you first look at it. Complicated things always break down into simplier parts. Simple things are easy to fix when you understand how stuff works. The trick is remembering how everything works.

I purchased this exact tent for my parents side yard years back and it was a horrible, terrible, god awful piece of shit. Tiny pole diameter, 8 million parts to put it together and it's just terrible. The tarp it comes with is a piece of crap too. It literally broke into a hundred pieces when they had a storm with a little wind (we live in California). Funny someone mentioned the one from Costco. Typically they are like $149 to $199 and that's what we bought to replace this golf outlets piece of shit and it's ten times the quality for 2 times the price. If you seriously want to have something like this for your side yard, spend the extra money and whatever you do, do not buy the golf outlets one. If you do, I promise you will be sorry.
