Groupon offers the following deal.

Catalina Flyer Round Trip to Catalina $35 [groupon.com]

depart from Newport Beach, California

travel by Dec. 1, 2013 (well, promotional value expires Dec. 1)

Regular price is $70. $35 is a great price. Total with $6 tax (paid onsite) is $41.

Limit 10 per person, may buy multiple as gifts. Not valid until 2/8/13. Phone reservation required; advanced reservations recommended. Subject to availability. Travel must be completed by expiration date. Not valid 7/4/13-7/7/13, 5/24/13-5/27/13, and 8/30/13-9/2/13. Subject to weather conditions and boat capacity. Must check in by 8:00 AM. Valid for same day or overnight travel. $6 tax not included. Expired value may only be applied to trips to Catalina Island. Valid for the 2013 season.
