I just called customer service and asked them about the HD 7550M showing up in the final summary instead of the HD 7650M and they told me that they don't make the new vaios E 17in with the 7550M so it's going to be the correct 7650M no matter what. The final summary is wrong. He also took off $10 for me so it's at least something.
My total was $716 after CA tax. Got the free blu-ray upgrade, the 7650M (1gb), and 5300mah battery. Everything else was base. Going to buy another 4gb ram later when I see a sale and I'm going to pop in a 240gb SSD I already have. Not a bad deal. |

I was looking into buying this laptop because i was about to sell mine but the buyer backed down ( cragislist). There OOS on the free blueray upgrade and you have to pay an extra 30 for a 500gb hard drive cause the 320 is also OOS. if you get this with and i7 put in a extra ram stick your self and get a ssd. you will have one serious machine that might rip a hole through apples laptops.

I had a bad experience buying this sony laptop. I tried to apply two sony gift cards I got via sony PC recycle program to this order, one of them was rejected with zero balance. I still placed the order, and then called the CS to see whether they could help re-apply it. The CS told me that she could not do it based on the existing order, thus cancelled my order. Then when she tried to place the order for me, the same gift card still could not apply although the balance was shown correctly before placing the order. She asked me to contact the gift card department to resolve the gift card issue. The CS in the gift card department fixed the issue and asked the CS in the sale department to call me again to place the order. However, this time, the other gift card which I could use for the first time order could not be used now. The CS promise me to contact the gift card department to fix the issue and call me back on Thursday. But I didn't receive any call, so I call the sale department again today. And he told me that most of the hardware options I prefer are not available, so I have upgrade it to more than $1000 and they could only offer me 10% discount on it. Compared with the options I prefer, it is no longer a deal. The call center manager admit it was caused by their fault, but he refused to offer any make up. So what should I do? Is there anyway I can express my complain to the right place in the Sony?

Sony website laptop customized with the closest configuration to the Newegg one, comes out to be $709.99 + tax and Newegg $639.99 (no tax for me). The Newegg one comes out cheaper, but does not include BluRay. Anyone have any thoughts? Am I wrong? It's really just a difference of paying $70 more + tax for the laptop with BluRay. |
